Skincare Routine
Since your skin will be with you for your entire life, it's important that you take care of it. Obviously it's easier to maintain your skin than it is to repair damaged skin, but don't assume it's too late. There are many new products now available to help improve skin, no matter what your age.

We DO NOT believe in doing any more than you have to. Many people benefit from Advanced Care Products, but frequently just a good basic skincare routine will help. We do work with our clients on an on-going basis. If you are using our products, you can contact us at any time and we'll be happy to discuss your skincare concerns, but before you assume you need a variety of advanced care products, please use a regular program for 6-8 weeks.

When to Begin a Skincare Routine

A regular skincare routine should be started while in your teens although we find it more realistic to assume you will start doing something in your 20's or 30's. By this time, you should be using a regular skincare routine, even if you don't regularly use make-up. (Make-up is fabulous and can really improve your appearance, but there is no substitute for a good skincare program. If your skin looks terrific your make-up will last longer and look better.)

Why Twice a Day?

A morning skincare routine prepares your skin for the day. While your body rests at night, your skin works to rejuvenate and repair itself from the day before. The first thing to do is to clean and prepare the surface of the skin. Follow with a moisturizer, which is necessary for all skin types. This seals the surface of the skin and protects it from the elements. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing your skin will also make your cosmetics look better and last longer. Follow your skincare routine with your make-up.

An evening skincare routine cleanses your skin of make-up and dirt from the air. Your skin works at night to rejuvenate and repair itself. It's been said that "Your skin ages 8 days for every night you don't remove your make-up." The first thing to do is to clean and prepare the surface of the skin. Follow with a moisturizer or night creme to seal the surface of the skin and allow it to rest overnight.

Detailed Morning Skincare Routine

1. Cleanser - Basic Skincare

    Removes surface impurities, excess oils and dead skin cells that accumulate while your body rests at night. Massage into moist skin, rinse well with lukewarm water. Repeat.

2. Toner - Basic Skincare

    Completes the action of the cleanser by removing any remaining residue, refines pores and tones skin so that moisturizer can be easily absorbed into the surface of the skin. Spritz directly onto face or moisten cotton ball and apply, avoiding eye area. Stroke over face and neck. Let dry.

3. Botanical Bio-Peptide Concentrate - Advanced Treatment - Reduces Wrinkles & Lines

    Peptides carry anti-aging treatments below the surface of the skin. Benefits include wrinkle/line reduction, improvement in tone and texture and an overall younger looking skin. Use on the entire face and neck, to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and help aid in the lightening of dark spots.

4. AHA Retexturizing Gel - Advanced Treatment - Improves skin tone and texture

  • AHA Retexturizing Gel - An advanced glycolic treatment (6%) to help loosen dead surface cells from the skin, allowing the newer, fresher skin to appear more quickly. Helps even and smooth skin tone and texture while allowing the skin to rejuvenate more efficiently. Apply over face and throat and allow to absorb. Be sure to follow with a sunscreen. Avoid eye area.

5. Skin Lightening - Advanced Treatment - Reduces Dark and Age Spots

  • Advanced Lightening Creme - A highly concentrated cream that reduces dark spots and age spots. Gradually fades hyperpigmentation with regular use. Leaves skin clearer, smoother and more evenly toned. Apply over dark areas and allow to absorb. Follow with the Gentle Resurfacing Lotion. Avoid eye area.
  • Skin Brightening Gel - A gel without hydroquinone to fade dark spots and antioxidants to protect the skin from the environment.

6. Gentle Resurfacing Lotion SPF15 - Advanced Treatment - Reduces Signs of Aging

    A highly concentrated, non-greasy lotion that accelerates cell renewal using a high-tech delivery system that works all day for dramatic retexturizing benefits. Skin looks smoother, fresher and younger. Includes SPF15 for broad-spectrum all-day protection. Apply evenly over cleansed face and throat in the morning. Follow with your regular moisturizer.

7. Antioxidants - Special Treatment - Reduce signs of aging, repair sun damage

    Antioxidants help reduce signs of aging, repair sun damage and neutralize free radicals that can accumulate on the surface of your skin, causing damage and signs of aging. Apply sparingly to face and neck.

  • Liquid Gold Serum - for very dry areas, dry patches, heavily lined areas and very dry, dehydrated skin.

  • Firming Complex - for areas losing firmness and resilience, sagging, lined. Jawlines that aren't as firm, eye areas losing tone and cheeks/mouth that are drooping.

8. Serum - Intensive Care

    Treatment Enhancer - Boosts the effects of moisturizing skincare products. Use under moisturizer and masque. Blend a small amount over the entire face, avoiding eye area and let dry.

9. Soothing Eye Gel or Eyebright Gel- Special Treatment - Puffy Eyes

    Rejuvenates eye area and reduces puffiness. Dot sparingly directly onto the puffy area. Let dry.

10. Undereye Lightening Gel- Advanced Treatment - Dark Undereye Shadows

    Restores and repairs delicate undereye tissues with important botanicals that help strengthen and rebuild tissues to reduce dark undereye shadows. This product has a cumulative effect--the longer you use it, the better the results. It lightens dark shadows and helps firm and tighten skin. Dot sparingly on the shadow. Let dry.

11. Firming Eye Gel - Advanced Treatment - Fine Lines and Wrinkles - Eye Area

    Restores and repairs the delicate skin around the eyes for a smoother, firmer, less-lined look. This product has a cumulative effect--the longer you use it, the better the results. It tightens the surface of the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and hydrates the skin to improve the tone and texture. Dot sparingly on the bone around eye area (no closer) and gently blend. Let dry.

12. Firming Throat Gel - Advanced Treatment - Fine Lines and Wrinkles - Throat Area

    Smooths and firms the skin of the throat. Skin will feel softer, fine lines and crepiness will disappear and texture improves. This product has a cumulative effect--the longer you use it, the better the results. It tightens the surface of the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and hydrates the skin to improve the tone and texture. Apply sparingly to the chest and throat. Stop at the chin line.

13. Sunscreen - Special Treatment - Sunscreen

    Provides SPF15 or SPF30 protection against the sun. Apply liberally to entire face and throat, avoiding eye area and let dry.

14. Blotchiness Treatment Creme - Special Treatment - Redness/Broken Capillaries

    Reduces redness and helps prevent broken capillaries. Excellent for people with rosacea. Apply to entire face, avoiding eye area.

15. Eye Treatment - Basic Skincare

    Fibronectin Eye Creme or Nourishing Eye Creme - Moisturizes and smoothes the eye area and throat without "plumping-up" the skin, which is what moisturizers do. The eye absorbs what it needs and the eye creme creates a barrier to prevent moisturizer from creeping into the eye area, causing/aggravating puffy eyes. Also a terrific moisturizer for the soft skin on the throat. Dot on eye bone and blend around the eye area and apply on throat (with upward motions). Can also be used to moisturize lips and help fight fine lines around the mouth. Use the Eye Creme for maintenance and to help fight fine lines.

16. Moisturizer - Basic Skincare

    A protective treatment that makes skin look and feel softer and smoother and provides a barrier against the environment. Apply a thin layer to face, avoiding eye area. (C+ Moisturizer and Herbal Vitamin Creme also provide Sun Protection of SPF15.)

17. Face Protection SPF15 - Special Treatment - Sunscreen

    A broad spectrum sunscreen with Microfine Zinc Oxide to protect against sun damage. Apply generously to entire face and neck.

18. Blemish Spot Treatment - Special Treatments - Spot treat blemishes.

    Use directly on blemish (not the surrounding area) and let dry. Suitable for all skin types.

  • Blemish Fix - A clear, lightweight spot treatment to reduce and inhibit blemishes.

  • Blemish Treatment Concealer - A skin toned cream that conceals and heals blemishes (with Salicylic Acid) as it hides redness and discolorations. Available in Fair and Natural.

19. Lip Exfole' & Vitamin E - Special Treatment - Dry, Chapped Lips

    Soften, soothes and heals dry lips. Use on dry or chapped lips and dry patches.

Follow with your regular make-up routine.
Detailed Evening Skincare Routine

1. Eye Make-up Remover - Basic Skincare

    Gently dissolves eye make-up, even difficult waterproof products and conditions the eye area. Non-oily formula is safe for contact lens wearers and sensitive eyes. Dampen a cotton ball with product and gently stroke across lid and lashes, wait a few seconds to allow the product to work and wipe gently until lashes and lids are clean.

2. Cleanser - Basic Skincare

    Removes surface impurities, make-up, excess oils and dead skin cells that accumulate during the day. Massage into moist skin, rinse well with lukewarm water. Repeat.

3. Toner - Basic Skincare

Leaves skin soft, smooth and supple. Rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants. Apply evenly over cleansed face and throat in the evening. Follow with your regular night creme, if necessary.

8. Night Treatment (Part 1) - Intensive Care

  • AHA Facial Gel - AHA gel designed especially for the face and neck area to improve the appearance of existing fine lines and prevent the formation of new lines.

  • AHA/BHA Night Treatment - AHA/BHA treatment products designed for problem blemished areas. Particularly effective for maturing skin that is still prone to breakouts. Spot treat problem areas.

9. Skin Brightening Gel - Special Treatment - Fades Dark Spots

    Skin Brightening Gel without hydroquinone to fade dark spots and antioxidants to protect the skin from the environment.

10. Antioxidants - Special Treatment - Reduce signs of aging, repair sun damage

    Antioxidants help reduce signs of aging, repair sun damage and neutralize free radicals that can accumulate on the surface of your skin, causing damage and signs of aging. Apply sparingly to face and neck.

    Hydrating, Soothing and Purifying Serums boost the effects of moisturizing skincare products. Use under moisturizer or night care. Apply very sparingly over entire face and throat, avoiding eye area. Let dry.

13. Night Treatment (Part 2) - Intensive Care

  • O2 Night Treatment - Oxygen enriching treatment designed for areas that are prone to signs of aging. Helps increase oxygen flow within the cell to improve cell performance. Spot treat or use on entire face and neck.

Apply sparingly to entire face, avoiding eye area. Let dry completely. Night Creme can be used on top.

14. Night Care - Basic Skincare

    A protective treatment to nourish and replenish moisture levels in skin. Makes skin look and feel softer and smoother and provides a barrier against the environment. Apply a thin layer to face, avoiding eye area.

  • Botanical Night Creme - Our richest night creme for dry, maturing and sun-damaged skin.

  • Azulene Night Creme - Lightweight night creme for maturing skin that is normal, sensitive or breakout prone, but dehydrated.

15. Lip Exfole'/Vitamin E - Special Treatment - Dry, Chapped Lips

    Soften, soothes and heals dry lips. Use on dry or chapped lips and dry patches. Use Exfole' to remove dry, dead skin and top with Vitamin E to heal and soothe.

16. Blemish Spot Treatment - Special Treatments - Spot treat blemishes.

    Use directly on blemish (not the surrounding area) and let dry. Suitable for all skin types.

Special Care Products

Special Care Steps can be used either morning or evening. Each product should be used twice a week. We recommend using them on different days. Use your Cleanser first, and follow the Special Care Steps with your Toner. Proceed with the regular routine.

Special Care 1 - Exfoliation

Facial Scrub - Intensive Care

    Removes dead skin cells that can build up on the surface of the skin causing a rough, coarse texture, surface graininess and dullness. Leaves the skin softer, smoother and better able to benefit from the skincare products. Massage gently into damp skin and rinse well. Use twice weekly.

Special Care 2 - Facial Masque

1. Serum - Intensive Care

    Boosts the effects of the masque and improves it's effectiveness. Apply sparingly to face and throat, avoiding eye area.

2. Facial Masque - Intensive Care

    Deep cleans and refines skin texture. Improves tone and color and defends against the loss of moisture. Apply a thin layer of masque, avoiding eye area and let dry (about 10 minutes). Rinse well. Use twice weekly.

Special Care 3 - AHA Masque Treatment

Magic Black Mud Masque (Glycolic Treatment) - Intensive Care

    Smooths, firms, texturizes and tones the face and throat. Exfoliates skin impurities and nourishes the skin. Clears and brightens the complexion. Rejuvenates skin cells; helps prevent premature aging, soothes, clears skin of blemishes and helps to heal and clear scars. Apply a thin layer of masque, avoiding eye area and let dry (10-15 minutes). Rinse well. Use once to twice a week.

Special Care 4 - Advanced Exfoliation Treatment

Micro-Mineral Resurfacing Treatment/Mineral Vitalizing Complex - Intensive Care

    An advanced exfoliation treatment to renew your skin. Use as an alternative or supplement to professional microdermabrasion treatments. Effectively buff away dead skin cells, and cleanses the pores revealing clean, fresh, radiant skin. Helps soothe and brighten the skin. Use one to two times per week. Apply to clean, moist skin. Scrub gently for 1-2 minutes in circular upward motion on the face, neck and throat or hands. Rinse thoroughly with water. Follow with Mineral Vitalizing Complex for best results.
