Tweezing
Tips
- Use an eyebrow pencil or concealer (the Eye Light Pencil is great for this) to mark your "perfect" brow and tweeze outside this area.
- Step back frequently to see how you're doing. Take a few hairs from one brow, then from the other. (Remember--better too little, than too much!)
- Tweeze at least a half hour before applying make-up.
- Tweezing after a shower or after steaming your face will make it a bit easier.
- Don't apply a moisturizer before tweezing (your tweezers can slip).
- Don't tweeze nose hairs or hairs growing out of moles.
- Invest in a decent pair of tweezers and treat them with care (if they get "dinged" they may become dull and loose their ability to grasp fine hairs).
How to Tweeze
- Brush brows in the direction of hair growth.
- Mark the area so you know what to tweeze and what to leave.
- Tweeze one hair at a time, in the direction of the hair growth.
- Pull gently, don't yank.
- Pull a few hairs from one side, then the other and step back to view the results.
Totally Lost?
Make an appointment at a reputable salon in your area and have someone wax or tweeze your brows the first time. Then you can maintain them with occasional visits to get "redone".
Defining Light Brows
Just because your brows are light doesn't mean they may not need shaping. Remove excess hairs so you have a nice line, then use Brush-on-Brows to darken. Do one brow, then the other--lightly--and step back to view the results. It's easier to darken some more than it is to clean up if you make a mess.
After your brows are "done," use the Brow Set to hold them in place and to keep the brush-on-brows in place all day.
We recommend the brush on brows (invest in the full size brush--it makes it easier to apply) because it gives a nicer, more natural brow line (and it is relatively foolproof). Use short light strokes to define brows.
